I was there as a young teenager. I remember the crowds and being pressed together on the bridge, but I don't remember any fear or panic. Today, I think there would be streaming videos of the bridge sagging, and mass panic on the bridge as everyone there watched it sag.

A couple of years ago, I watched some tourists in Uganda buy avocados from a roadside vendor. They negotiated a price that I think was about $0.50 US. Only then did they realize that they were purchasing the entire bowl of avocados, not just the one that they picked up...
