Baby blanket for a maritime themed baby shower. I cobbled together a few different patterns to mimic waves. Made with Caron Cloud Cakes
A round blanket knit middle-out, using yarn over increases, short rows, and picot edge. The ombre yarn goes from a deep blue in the center, pales to almost white, then back to deep blue at the perimeter of the circle. A frilly edge was added with the same almost white yarn. The segments between yarn overs mimic the shape of waves, and the frilly edge mimics foam on crashing waves. The color scheme invoques the moon's reflection on still water or a frozen lake. The shape also reminds of a sand dollar.

Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility. We exist. We are not a threat to cis people's existance. We just want to be ourselves and live freely, without others legislating whats in our pants and what bathroom to use. Its a scary world to be alive in today.

Huge thanks to my friends for all the donated knitting needles! They are now nicely organized by size and ready to go to the Ottawa CNIB hub, where I am facilitating a visually impaired knitting group for the first time today.

A huge pile of knitting neddles of all sizes sits on a wood table. I have not counted, but there must be at least 50 pairs if not closer to 100.

Actively avoiding the news to avoid panic attacks. For now I'll be knitting my gayest blanket yet and focusing on making my direct community a bit better instead of looking at the wider world. #knitting #2slgbtqia
