Jesus looks like he's running in quicksand. Not sure he's the outlet we need right now. Agreed that I'd have liked Noni and middle Gabi.

I'm looking at this through stress tinted glasses, but felt like we really took our foot off the gas at the beginning of the second. We did do a lot better as the game progressed as far as hunting a second.

Yeah, it worked out. At the end of the day, that's what we all care about lol
December 20, 2025 at 10:36 PM
I don't disagree and I'm not saying it's wrong. Just how I felt
December 20, 2025 at 10:19 PM
That's fair, and I get that. Just feels like we'd be talking about that sub if they nod home the equalizer, yeah? I think we need to be a bit more brave late in some of these games.

Ideally, we wouldn't be in this position.
December 20, 2025 at 10:19 PM
But I guess my point is that we are managing too many 1-0 games lately because the decisions we are making from a bench perspective are too passive.
December 20, 2025 at 10:18 PM
So in the last month or two, when was the last time either of them drastically changed the game off the bench? Happy to be wrong. Memory sucks sometimes.

Not saying Eze hasn't had those moments from the start.
December 20, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I get that, but I think we also lose too much technical ability higher up the pitch when our three midfield giants are THE midfield.
December 20, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Much better. I just really don't like the Merino sub for him. Surely you go Eze or Ethan?

This is the kind of passivity that I don't like. Merino doesn't replace Ode's potential creativity
December 20, 2025 at 9:54 PM
I think the biggest issue is that none of the players on the bench currently feel like game changers. I'm sure Mikel feels like he can't take off Saka, Ode, Rice, or Zubi given the game state.

At the same time, how can they prove an impact of the bench if he doesn't give them a chance?
December 20, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Like we look better now, but this fascination with letting the game come at us isn't working right now. We are fully capable of CONTROLLING proceedings.
December 20, 2025 at 9:38 PM
That literally HAS to be a goal. These are the things that bite us in the ass.
December 20, 2025 at 9:29 PM
It's just so stupidly passive. All. The. Time
December 20, 2025 at 9:25 PM
In general, yes, but I'm still iffy on whether or not he got a good push
December 20, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Yup. Incredibly immature. I've honestly been disappointed with the discipline all night. I thought we were better than this (mentally).
November 30, 2025 at 5:49 PM
This is already becoming frustrating. We are playing right into their hands. Arteta really has to prove that he can manage this game state.
November 30, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Or they won't, because the universe is unjust and they will wank their way to an undefeated season with last minute winners.
September 14, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Fair. It's definitely the flash of Liverpool's signings that make them feel "inevitable". But you're right, they've been less than convincing, and you have to feel that our attempt not to lose had a bigger effect on this game than anything they did.
August 31, 2025 at 5:44 PM
I'm not sure how you and @gunnerblog.bsky.social feel, but I'm just really tired of the feeling that a single loss or dropped point is an existential threat to a title race. Is this just the state of the modern game from now on?
August 31, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Backups? We have those?
May 11, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Champions of letting the season turn into a complete meltdown, you'll never sing that...

😭

Will Rubio do anything to stand against that farce? No.

This clip is literally just a bunch of schoolyard bullies gassing each other up. The smallest men who ever lived.

I don't really need Amazon Prime.

I hate it here.
