I've got a couple of pages (7&8) from Devils & Deaths #1 but my pride and joy is page 1 from issue 1 of Devil's Choices. What's more, @matthollingsworth.com was even kind enough to sell me his original hand-painted colors to hang alongside it.

Cool! But why is it so ... blue? Is that just an effect of you photographing the screen? Or did DC do some effed up reprint? DC never sends colorists comps of cover work, but surely it didn't actually print like that? Should look like this:

Huzzah! I'm thrilled that I can finally reveal the title, cover and release date to the fifth volume of PAWS, by me and Michele Assarasakorn. The Trouble With Leo will be in stores March 3, 2026!

Thrilled to finally be able to share the cover to the deluxe hardcover collection of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen. An absurd amount of work, but fun to do. Fantastic work by @stevelieberart.bsky.social , @mattfraction.bsky.social and @claytoncowles.bsky.social. In stores everywhere July 29th!

The wonderful folks at Puffin Books are running a graphic novel competition for under-represented UK authors, so if you've got a story to tell, why not put together a submission and give it a shot!

Find out more by going to: www.penguin.co.uk/discover/chi...

Good luck!

I hate to publicly deride the work of any colorist, but the colors on this cover are a crime.

I'm happy to show how much I received, since it's a government program that is fully transparent and the compensation formula is straightforward. They look for your book in a sample of 8 Canadian library systems, and for every hit, they pay a set amount. All four of my books hit in every search! ☺️

Hey, look what came in the mail!

If you're a Canadian author or illustrator, please make sure to register your work with the Canada Council for the Arts Public Lending Right program, which compensates authors for the presence of their books in Canada's Public libraries.

Wow. Having a little trouble processing this news. After stalling out for a few weeks at #2, PAWS: Hazel Has Her Hands Full is the #1 bestselling Canadian kids book this week. 😳

I’ve always loved seeing where and how others work. One of my favorite books about the making of comics is Studio Space. It’s chock full of interviews with some of the greats, with pictures of their studios and insights into their processes. Out of print now, but worth finding.

Not pictured is my studio mate, Smidgen. (This office is a co-working space.)

Okay, Bluesky, I’m going to give this social media thing one more (last?) try, and I’d like to start by checking in on all of my comics friends to see where they’re at. And I mean that literally—show me your workspace, and maybe let me know what you’re working on! I’ll start! #WorkspaceWednesday

While I'm dusting off my Bluesky account, I suppose I'd better mention that the boxed set of the first three volumes of PAWS is now in stores, just in time for Christmas shopping! 😉

Just approved the upcoming Danish edition of PAWS volume 4 (in stores January 14th!) and thought I'd take a moment to express gratitude. I'm so thrilled that our series has been such a success internationally. Twelve translations and a British Commonwealth edition! More than I ever hoped for. ☺️

The third book in the series, Priya Puts Herself First, comes out next week, October 17, and Penguin has already signed us on to an additional 2-book deal. We should be wrapping up book 4 by the end of this year. 😊

After Lake of Fire, I wanted to make a book that I could share with my daughter, so I started working with Michele Assarasakorn on PAWS, a book about neighborhood dog walkers (my daughter loves animals). In 2020 we sold a three-book series to Penguin Random House and that's been my life ever since!

I love coloring, but my real passion is for writing. In 2017, I wrote, colored and lettered an Image book with @barbarianlord.bsky.social called Lake of Fire. It did pretty well! Made a little money and was even translated into 6 languages!

I suppose I should start by re-introducing myself to the community here. My name is Nathan Fairbairn and I make comics! I started out as a colorist for Marvel, DC, Image, and Oni, mostly. If you like comics, I probably colored some books you've read!
