I did not sense any uptick in support for Israel during the previous government which was explicitly supported an Arab party.

My take is that liberals are inherently on the side of underdogs. Like Israel pre-1967, but not now.

Interesting analysis. I genuinely wonder whether “pro-Palestine” liberals are as nuanced in their thinking as set out here.
