Definitely check out this recap of what is going on with the so-called "Simplification Omnibus" and why it is so very important 👇
Today’s Sustainability Omnibus vote in the EP marks a turning point for the EU’s centrist coalition & sets course for the rest of the simplification agenda. The EPP broke with traditional partners, seeking a majority with far-right groups to deliver its vision of how to cut sustainability rules.

EU conservatives vote with far right to approve cuts to green rules
The outcome highlights the EPP’s willingness to abandon its traditional centrist coalition allies.

Car manufacturing was the pinnacle of 20th-century industrialisation. Even today, the industry remains one of Europe’s most important sectors, if not the most important. It employs 13.6 million people...

3.5 + 1.5 = 5. That's the important maths for the NATO summit starting today. But what's in the 1.5%?

When counter-tariffs are floated in the EU, they're often quickly derailed by member states especially exposed to the country in question. This time, it is of course the US. My colleague @etiennehoera.d-64.social & co-authors @aslak.bsky.social & @aleichthammer.bsky.social have some ideas to help 👇

Really important look at what's going on in the cohesion policy realm right now👇
🚨 Cohesion Policy: The End of the ERDF as we know it?

Today, Mr. Fitto unveiled major changes to #CohesionPolicy. €100B+ in ERDF funds remain unspent — now up for grabs to fund defence, competitiveness, housing. Why is this the case?

1/ UK’s new EU sherpa is a key puzzle piece to getting the EU-UK reset off the ground.
EU experience and Whitehall clout will be key to pushing UK’s EU strategy forward.

The articles I've seen seriously considering the pros & cons of the floated US purchase or acquisition by force of Greenland are shameful. So far major international news outlets are failing the test & are already sanewashing the upcoming Trump administration before it even takes office.
Every single thing that everybody suddenly wants to do in Greenland - mine for minerals! use shipping lanes! set up bases! - can be done right now, while Greenland is part of Denmark. The discussion of "occupying" Greenland is just a pointless piece of aggression towards an ally.

Part of the EU response to the US Inflation Reduction Act is STEP, the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform. It could bring investment to projects that support a range of important green & digital technologies. Could it also help cohesion? My thoughts here: globaleurope.eu
