I had AI create an image of a federal government shutdown for my Administrative Law course. Not bad.

Happy this paper with the brilliant @joannagrossman.bsky.social is finally in print with Iowa La Review. We tackle federalism questions after Dobbs and in light of longstanding FDA regulation of abortion medications. The fight for science and evidence-based medicine goes on....

Had pleasure of hosting colleagues from Brazil to meet with some of the very best scholars on AI in medicine under US law. Still much to be done but glad to collaborate with such quality people.

RFK Jr./Trump have fired media and comms teams at FDA, which means the public won't receive timely and accurate alerts about unsafe food products, drugs, medical devices, etc. And they fired the entire FOIA team at CDC. Totally dystopian. These agencies are *required by law* to alert the public.

Grading a (very good) student paper and reminded, yet again, how much damage can be done by RFK Jr. and other unqualified public health appointees under Trump.

Proud that my top five songs include the theme songs from Superman and The Twilight Zone.

Anyone ever been the lone American at a conference? I love it. Got to share ideas about how to regulate AI in medicine with academics and policymakers from Brazil and Canada. Then got to answer roughly 4,128 questions about our recent election.

For over a decade I've gone out of my way to gross out my students on Valentine's Day by describing, in gory details, the FDA's "defect action levels" (allowable filth) for chocolate products. Rodent hairs? Mammalian excreta? Insect fragments? Yes please. #fda

Feels like I should post something, so instead of commentary, just a cool recent memory.

How should law schools accommodate generative AI? I honestly have no idea.
