Very proud of our group and the presentations we gave this past week at AIC chapter of @amfisheriessoc.bsky.social meeting in Quebec City.

Lots of telemetry on species including river herring, rainbow smelt, Arctic char, and bull trout

Grateful for commercial diving services that retrieved this acoustic telemetry receiver for us that we have been trying to get back for the last 3 to 4 months.

Quite the settlement plate it became over the last 15 months. Fingers crossed for good data!

New paper in Marine Ecology Progress Series!

Former MS student Emily Burke tracked green crab movements at fine-scales in a Maine estuary using acoustic telemetry!

Haven't posted much. I usually post about fish, but also here is my boy Ziggy. He loves basking in the morning sun 🌞

Now that I have a bunch of new followers, reintroducing our latest paper using acoustic telemetry on Chesapeake Bay fishes and horseshoe crabs. Reply if you'd like PDF

I am hiring a postdoc to analyze passive acoustics data in coastal Gulf of Maine + collaborate with a broad team to link data to other estimates of marine biodiversity. Scholar would also work with PhD student quantifying Atlantic cod movements + diets.

Last Christmas my wife gave me a trail camera. I've loved seeing what comes by the back of the property over the year. Here are some highlights from the past couple of months.

First, a black bear that came by on three separate occasions.
