If God’s claim is the main thing, maybe isolating rationality, or temporality, or language, or relationality as the image becomes secondary. (At least, secondary w/r/t Daniel’s concerns, as I play telepath.)

Daniel’s first worry rings true. Because “image/likeness” isn’t spelled out, it’s a bit of a theological inkblot.

What’s clearer in Genesis is what the “of God” entails. The divine image means human blood—bodily life—is spoken for. Humans belong to God materially.
