You could try getting a few short USB extension cables so they get worn out faster than your controllers connections. Or even a USB hub with switches so you could change controllers without plugging them in.

External CD players are super cheap these days. Its a bit of an investment to start collecting CDs again, mostly in terms of time and space. I buy used stuff from local stores and import them with iTunes so they are all tagged and organized.

Interesting. I've had the exact opposite experience. Take advantage of the warranty and see if you could even return it.

Do you think it will be good enough to fully replace PS for everyone? I tried to switch unsuccessfully 15+ years ago so my knowledge is pretty limited.
