I do, of course, have a paragraph from "Why We Fear AI" for this

Just finished reading Mike Davis' Prisoners of the American Dream today, and it's a pretty damning indictment of exactly this from the Democratic party...in the 1980s. They've been doing this for my entire life, it's very clear at this point that they have no interest outside of capital.
Prisoners of the American Dream
Prisoners of the American Dream is Mike Davis’s brilliant exegesis of a persistent and major analytical problem for Marxist historians and political economists: Why has the world’s most industrially a...

there could literally not be a better time in history for us on the left to reach out to progressive liberals and show them that there is an alternative—that the democratic party is their enemy and is just as subservient to capital as republicans are

Wow, and here I thought I was the only one who thought your appearance on MUHH was fire (was honestly really excited for the surprise podcast crossover when it hit my feed, I’ll always enjoy listening to you talk philosophy!)

Yeah same, I only see these screencaps now thankfully 😂

There are lots of bad takes on social media, but this is one of the only dudes whose every post makes me stop and think “this is a deeply unserious person who is always convinced he is the smartest in the room”

I need a podcast talking through these! Or just a conversation some time ❤️

I’ll keep getting vaccinated and masking in the meantime, obviously to protect myself and my partner, and hopefully to prevent others from having to deal with potential long term disability as well - that basically sums up my position these days

The entire population is the test subject at this point, so I think those are going to be operative for quite some time sadly

Long COVID in Young Children, School-Aged Children, and Teens
This JAMA Pediatrics Patient Page describes the symptoms of long COVID in children.

This was based on a paper published via JAMA Pediatrics estimating prevalence, a source which I wouldn’t normally accuse of pushing narratives as much as mainstream journalism might

But not trying to go back and forth here, it seems you’ve kept track of all this already, so I’m not being helpful

Many of these may be small sample sizes, but when I see Long Covid is more common in kids than asthma at this point, I think a bit more heed needs to be paid to long term ramifications of continual reinfections of a vascular disease, and can definitely speak from personal experience too of course

Me and my partner have to keep up with this due to her having to deal with Long Covid ever since our first and only infection in 2023, despite multiple vaccinations. Trying to help others not have to learn about this stuff the hard way down the line, but hard to have nuanced convos on Bluesky.

Hey, appreciated seeing your kind interaction with Chris here, so wanted to share some solid evidence re: risk, as these studies keep piling up and it seems most are not aware of them - for example, here’s a recent roundup of them
