I personally disagree and find the story and overall themes a mess. But hey, that’s your opinion. I am interested to hear your thoughts on it though.

I would try Tarkov again but PvE being locked behind a paywall is the reason why I’m very hesitant.

I also think it boils down to titles like Dead Space being more of an action horror game. Kinda hard to be scared when Isaac’s boot is right there lol. Although, I don’t mind if it’s not scary as long as the game is fun and Dead Space is pretty fun.

I can agree with that somewhat since having a gun doesn’t automatically make a game less scary. A perfect example is Amnesia: The Bunker since you can’t kill the main threat and the gun is a tool for problem solving but you get very little ammo for it even on normal difficulty.

I haven’t played any Bioshock game but I can say that it’s probably because horror is very subjective. For me, I never found Dead Space or a particular section in Resident Evil: Village to be scary. This is coming from someone who plays horror games with headphones on and the volume turned up.

I always think that the people who say that shit are people who haven’t played the original games considering the first game’s opening tells us a lot about Kratos in a short amount of time.
