I know this is supposed to be for micros only, but I still wanted to contribute with a flash fiction piece as the photo was really inspiring. Thanks for doing these photo prompts!

For the folks who aren't sure what this game is:

This was just rereleased on NSO for Halloween, I'd really recommend playing it! It's tough, but fair, and a cool part of early Famicom history.

"The Invention of Morel" by Adolfo Bioy Casares is my favorite book of all time. I've never really read anything quite like it, but the mystery of the novel made me feel the same way I did playing Outer Wilds: everything felt like a genuine discovery!

That rocks. I may be out of my depth, but it always feels like commercial artists and illustrators that work in magazines or fiction are often ignored for the "canonical" artists, which is a huge bummer.

One of my favorite things to do when I'm able to travel is find churches that have, for the most part, been converted to tourist attractions but also actively used for service. The Chapel in the Woods (SD), the Wall Drug alley church (SD), and the Chapel of the Fallen Eagles (GA). Odd energy inside.

How do you say Appalachia? It's pronounced "Apple-At-Cha," not "App-a-lay-sha," at least in my neck of the woods. The easy way to remember is this: if you say it wrong, I'll throw an apple at'cha!

On the old app, a recommendation for Seán Padraic Birnie's Three Stories was doing the rounds so I checked them out on ergot.press. I love literary horror and all three of Birnie's stories floored me with their chokehold on that sinking feeling of bewildering and delirious fear. Spooky, spooky.
