You just need enough ilvl and DPS to get the cocoons down before they hatch. I've watched quite a lot of clips on youtube with people at around the 600-610 mark and they're able to take him down. The main thing is the mechanics.

WoW numbers seem to be down across the board. If you're enjoying it, that's way more important than numbers. With new content around the corner, you could either take a short break and come back for the new patch or just keep going and let the numbers take care of themselves
