Price shopping for medical care is insanity. Most people do not have the knowledge to price shop and in an emergency who can think straight. Just look at veterinary medicine where prices are more transparent and the money extracted by emergency clinics for procedures that could wait to normal hours.

Yep, saw this outrage last night when I renewed my vet accreditation. Only good thing is I think few people visit the USDA site.

I try to remember that I am far from perfect. It is he who will have to live with the knowledge that he may have helped sacrifice hundreds or thousands to the whims of the orange god. May he use his skills and knowledge to save us all. May his future reflect heroism, not the cowardice of his past.

Maybe you missed all those folks with the placards dressing Obama as Hitler and the shouting that any slightly leaning left policy is socialism and Nazis were national socialists. If the word has been weakened, it's not only the left that is to blame.

Buying Beanie Babies is probably a better investment.

They were focused on the racism with a side of sexism. The rest was noise.

It sounds like the same pleading that we heard to Putin, to Stalin, or to the tsars. It was never the good king but the underlings.

I will not give into lies.
I will not give into fear.

Beautifully written and good advice. Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears. If only the ghosts of America's past, present and future could visit the citizens who hatefully, ignorantly and greedily voted for the Trump abomination to see the conflagration this administration is going to create.

Tried to sign them up for LL Bean, already signed up but had success with Brooks Brothers and a few other places. I hope they enjoy shopping for deals.

Nurse, secretary, and primary school teacher for women. Stablehand, waiter, porter on a train, shoe shiner, for POC. Maybe they will be generous and POC can mow lawns and pick cotton. As if it wasn't obvious, it was always racism and misogyny and never the price of eggs.

I thought they were all tough guys, and they can't take a little cold.

As a woman, I know what they think —women are lesser. Even American women too often believe that of themselves. They’ve internalised the misogyny.

In what world do you live in, Mike?
December 18, 2024 at 11:06 PM
Exactly. There is always a risk benefit analysis, and no medical intervention is ever entirely risk free. As I understand the rare myocarditis risk in the Covid vaccine, is from ramping up the immune system. All vaccines do that. (My personal expertise is on the veterinary side.)

Attenuated works for some things. You should be damn glad that the rabies vaccine is killed, much too dangerous for attenuated. Tetanus vaccine is a toxoid. Covid is mRNA--different technologies for different diseases.

Make TB great again. I won't even start the laundry list of other nasty bacteria and viruses.
