In the end, I know that my legacy is not in the decor left up in my classroom, but rather in the lives and memories of the students I taught. And that, to me, is a blessing.

There's the myth of the tortured artist. That mentally ill people are creative geniuses. But I disagree. When you are sick, it's impossible to create. It's not until you are better that you can truly create a masterpiece.
