So Styx, my warlock I play on stream, may have just received an Advanced Prototype Jumpship, with a smashing pumpkin transmat effect (because it has a unique sound, and it’s a subtle music reference)…and now I NEED to do an audio appreciation stream before the end of season!!!

Found this on the bottom of my t-shirt stack. I bought it because in acting school, when it came to voice overs, the only way I could get into a ‘mom voice’ was to become mightily annoyed with someone nearby.

This popped up on threads, and I’m absolutely going to try it. Mostly to have a variant to the Reinhardt method (proceed forward fearlessly like a tank with armor twice the size of your actual form), which works a charm in busy malls heading into the Christmas shopping season.

Bungie included this photo in their 2021 Destiny showcase, along w/how important Eris and Shadowkeep had been for me during my recovery.
Thing is, Destiny has been my comfort and inspiration since then, too.

Oh hey London Drugs -a sticker that says ‘Made in CA’ is either going to be taken as made in CANADA, or at a push, California. It’s sure as fck not supposed to mean made in CHINA (in which case it should have read CN).

This area in the Outer Wastes is a great example - it’s just past the brigg and auto spawn explodie-floaties area. The sound is womb-like, and almost like being under water in a hot tub or pool when there are jets going off. Turn the game music off and just listen. It’s surreal!

Omg, the ‘music’ is literally only in one portion of this area. In the picture below, I jumped from that center lower structure to the top of the metal structure, and the sound changed completely! No more enviro EDM!

Anyone else noticed in the Stellar Sink, on Kepler, just after you start the ‘find Lodi’ mission, there’s Vex ‘music’? The game music needs to be off, or stopped, or it’ll just sound like random cave dripping and light buzzing, but it’s definitely EDM-ish in style .

I’m going to ask folks to please read the whole screenshot before rushing to a different genAi to spit out a result that is missing the most egregious error in the original screenshot’s first sentence, and then telling me no actually the Ai is correct. Saves you needing to block me.

As funny as this is, this is why I get mad when radio hosts admit on air to using Ai overviews in discussions, instead of scrolling down to the actual answers. (Or in her case, going straight to StatsCan, or something similar.)

I’ve discovered a GREEN stand here ear, as well! This one is in front of a kitchen display titled ‘Turn on your cooking mood’. To be expected, it’s cooking sounds - chopping, sizzling, stirring/whisking - and the occasional clink of what could be a wine glass. Background music is jazzy, and light.

I know this is basically the only book available currently on this topic, but there is no way in hell it’s worth that amount of money. Especially not a book published in 2015, on a topic that has to have been affected by the tech improvements, and industry shifts, between now and then.

Good to know Afrikaans survived the Collapse! 😆 For anyone curious, a boomslang is a green snake, usually spotted in trees in South Africa, that is HIGHLY venomous, but not very aggressive (they’re kind of adorable, but should be left WELL ALONE). It’s pronounced booh-um sluh-ng, not boom slang.
