I saw a two-year-old standing completely rapt in front of an Orphic piece by Sonia Delaunay.

Orphic = a word I learned today, coined by the poet Apollinaire to describe the vivid work of Sonia & Robert Delaunay, Lupka, Kandinsky.

Here's mine - the rare Tiburon Mariposa Lily, found only in one place on the planet, Ring Mountain - a beautiful hike and a gentle traverse to find this beauty last May.

The persimmon tree in our back yard is beginning to turn up the flame colored leaves - and also managed to produce two (2!) actual persimmons this year!
