This quilt is called “Miserable Ghost or Disappointed Toast?” and it was juried into QuiltCon 2023, (and Quilt Canada 2022 where it won the appliqué award).
If you are on IG, search #inkblotquilt to see how these shapes came to be, and read the comments to see what people saw in them 😂

With QuiltCon 2025 around the corner, I’m resharing the quilts I’ve had hang in past shows.
While this one was a group effort by my guild, the Victoria MQG for QuiltCon’s Community Outreach Challenge, I designed and quilted it, AND it made it onto the cover of QuiltCon 2022 Magazine!

This is Amish Quilt Study, and it was juried into QuiltCon 2021.
I really admire Amish quilts and find them quite beautiful, so I thought it would be an interesting exercise to take various elements of traditional Amish quilts and combine them all into one piece.
It currently hangs in my bedroom 😊

It’s called “A Way Through” and was selected to be included in Sandra Sider’s book “Quarantine Quilts: Creativity in the Midst of Chaos” and the accompanying exhibition at NEQM.
It was also juried into QuiltCon 2023 and Quilt Canada 2022.

Quilt top is finished!
I’m going to let it percolate for a bit while I think about how I’d like to quilt it, and how much of the negative space I want to keep.

This is probably the most challenging quilt seam I’ve ever had to sew 😅
I recently took a precision piecing workshop with Bernie and Shelley Tobisch and I gotta say it was a game changer!

Often I will design a quilt, start making it, realize I don’t have enough fabric to finish it, adjust the design using what I have already made, get stuck with some really tricky piecing, question WTH I’m doing, and then finally finish the quilt. I’m at the WTH part, but we’re almost there haha!
