I like Dateline, dogs and decent people. I'm a communications specialist married to a songwriter. Yes, you've heard his music. Yep, he's a lot older than I am. No, he's not on here. We have a dog, Drummer, aka @datelinedawgs, who's much more entertaining.
Poor Steven just trying to get some rest. 😂😂

Then, when I was 12, Papaw found out he had cancer, and soon after, he traded his silver Chevy for the granite gravestone he now shares with Mamaw.

I miss them both, but I especially miss Papaw when I catch the

time I’d ever seen anyone reach into a casket. It was also the first time someone I loved had ever needed a casket.

During vacations, Papaw would scope out old cemeteries. We’d survey the graves and silently read what we could make out on the engraved markers. It never occurred to me that some

I spent summers with Papaw. After Mamaw died, I rode shotgun in his silver Chevy – like a mismatched movie duo out for adventure.

Our adventures were daily. First, we’d listen to the local obituaries on the kitchen radio as he prepped his morning insulin shot. We’d discuss ages of the deceased,
