Exciting opportunity in our Lab
Looking for a postdoc to understand dynamic vision in action in freely moving mice? Get in touch!

This is a @erc.europa.eu postdoc in a project between us and @sinzlab.bsky.social: miniature 2-photon, rich behavior tracking, and deep learning models linking natural behavior to cortical activity|RT
🔬 Exciting PostDoc Opportunity! 🐁🧠

We - the @sinzlab.bsky.social (sinzlab.org) and @trose-neuro.bsky.social (troselab.de) Labs - are seeking an experimental postdoc to work at @unibonn.bsky.social with cutting-edge miniature 2-photon microscopy and gaze tracking in freely behaving mice.

What kind of path — from random decisions to mindset shifts — brought us to where we are now, and how does it influence our research? Which reasons for doing neuroscience do we present to the world, and what are the real ones?
One day of reflection in Heidelberg.
We are happy to announce our next Workshop of Ideas in Neuroscience: “Why Are There Neuroscientists?”
This time, we’ll gather in the beautiful city of Heidelberg to explore our reasons and motivations for doing research in neuroscience.

Neuronal encoding – so widely used, yet so many questions remain for me. I am so intrigued to discuss the topic with our amazing guests. Join us for the discussion in Paris!
We are super happy to announce the third Workshop of Ideas in Neuroscience! We will once again look critically at assumptions of modern neuroscience: what does it mean that the brain encodes information? Is this a useful approach, or a metaphor that blurs our vision?

I am glad that this discussion went beyond our workshop. It's important to reflect on why we study things in one way or another, but it shouldn’t be a source of discouragement.
We are super happy to present our first preprint - the effect of our Rethinking Naturalistic Behaviour Workshop - where we look more critically at the term "naturalistic behaviour" and point to its vagueness and inconsistency in its use! osf.io/preprints/os...
