Today is Freedom Day for Nat. Eight years since my child and I got on a plane to escape domestic violence.

If you’re living with DV, I know how hard it is to leave. Most of us can’t do it alone. And the cage, perversely, starts to feel like home.

You still deserve better tho.
Natalia sticking her tongue out in the driver’s seat of her SUV. When I left, my PTSD was so bad that I couldn’t even drive. My ex had done horrible things in the car, including snatching the wheel and crashing us. Little by little, I fought the fear after I left. I can do it, so can you.
