Today felt like Christmas in spring 🌸 Sun, flowering trees & some new lab equipment 💚 No advertisement but it’s nice that it is possible to buy stuff second hand or a bit more sustainable alternatives.

Not ready to include brain rot into my lectures so it ended up being old school humour. Since I know some of the students aren’t that young I hope it might still work - it’s part of the instructions for presentations of biodiversity case studies btw

Finally, after 2y in Spain, I managed it Madrid & just fell into Reina Sofía from the train. Amazing collection with some pieces by Ben Shahn like the Blind Botanist reflecting on a scientist responsibility for his/her/their work.

So I‘m gonna start here with some actual blue sky taken today in Montseny, Catalunya. The summit of Matagells, highest peak in that area (1.697m), cannot go without the Catalan flag displaying bloody fingers of Charles the Bald. And I was lucky to spot some (hopefully I’m right) Dianthus deltoides
