Early Pliocene Africa-
A beachcombing Afrocyon is confronted the gigantic felid, Adeilosmilus kabir, in a desperate attempt to keep its prize, the beardog drags its meal to a safer location, the 359kg+ felid is clearly not amused by this act.

The fossil record of felids is undoubtably patchy, with gaps in our comprehension that may never be filled e.g., the first occurrence of felids on the African continent. Diamantofelis of Early-Mid Miocene Namibia helps to fill that gap. It was as large as a small puma. (Check out the ostriches👀)
