Finally finding time to read this, slowly and deliberately. I’m surprised by the lines that make me laugh out loud, irreverent and searing. Love, love this book.

Soup, sunshine, & good coffee. I’m training my brain to concentrate again. Reading, writing—making sense & breaking bread with friends.

Currently reading—resisting the need to be hyper informed & finding ways to ground myself. This is phenomenal.

They say, never meet your heroes—more so if they’re writers because they’ll just disappoint you. But when it’s Melissa Febos & you get to tell her just how much her words mean to you—that’s magic. 💖 Grateful, always, for what words do. The essays in Body Work are the antidote to the times.

Excellent & important. Glad I caught this before the inauguration in the US—it’s the perfect documentary to make one’s blood boil & lament the fact that what passes for leadership these days is an elite crop of male idiots & tech bro losers.

Cleaning my desk and laughing at myself. 🙈😅 Every time I go to Asia, my collection of pahid pahid grows. You would think I were in so much pain. But at least you know that I’m the woman with the goods!

Trying to work my way back into poetry as a way to animate & refresh my writing. Do you have any favorite or newly discovered poets & poems to recommend? (Also in love with this cover/color combo of Lee Seong-Bok & @antonhur.com!)

I inherited my favorite teacup from my great aunt. I love when all my interests come together so beautifully. Also, I didn’t know that lemon balm loved this season!

Let’s see you at 21.

The year I was a pirate & got my artificial eye. Got into photography, too. I still have this choker.

Since I’m on a Southeast Asia binge, I may as well share my current obsession with this film magazine called, Marg1n. Their first issue is about cinema in Cambodia & the Philippines but with a particular focus on piracy. I got a Belgian indie bookshop to take two copies to stock today. Small wins!

Sharing this call for a panel—this really tickles my brain & makes me so excited. Wish I could be a fly on the wall listening to people grapple with these themes. If you work on Southeast Asia, please let me know. 💖

Readers, I met him! Thara Seng, the editor of the lovely Marg1n magazine. We talked cinema, common friends, visions, & delusions for hours & hours. Had goosebumps thinking of how their work is exactly what Alexis Tioseco would have resonated with—their first impulse being that of love. ❤️

Discovered this delicious gem of a magazine on cinema in Cambodia & the Philippines. The first issue takes on piracy & harks back to a time of DVDs & bootleg copies. I’m in love! 🥰 Hope I can meet the the editor soon.

The best part of my job is being with our vendor leaders & learning from them. ❤️ Closing another successful training activity & happy to report that we now have a roster of leaders ready to train their members!
