Pet Sounds is one of the best albums ever made. It's a perfect example of said advanced recording techniques. Look at the way they recorded "God Only Knows" if you want an especially good example. Lot of great hits on that album too.

They are super awesome. :D Really ahead of their time musically with their unique recording techniques, and the songs are just so upbeat, fun and catchy. They're the quintessential summer beach vibe.
