Using a variety of artistic languages, Halilaj transforms the signs and symbols of innocence into three-dimensional dreamscapes and multi-layered installations incorporating narrative and mythic performances and harness symbolism and fantasy as a force for hope and healing.

The Kosovar artist is known for creating fantastical and immersive spaces that fuse childhood wonder with the personal and political history of his homeland.

Making use of organic elements that engage senses beyond the visual—prominently including smell, a sense strongly linked to memory—Nkanga brings visitors into an encounter with this living history.

For her Nasher Prize exhibition, Nkanga presents newly conceived iterations of recurring projects, each responding to the North Texas region as a shifting nexus of peoples, cultures, and materials with complexly interwoven histories lived in the present.

Our staff activates the Sonic Cosmic Rope every hour on the half hour. Museum visitors are invited to experience this activation during their visit to ‘Haegue Yang: Lost Lands and Sunken Fields.’✨

'Airborne Paper Creatures' take flight as abstracted forms of fauna named for the actions they take: flutterers (birds), swimmers (marine life), and crawlers (insects).
