When he joined the band on stage to drum out a surprisingly competent performance on the marimba to their last big hit, “Isn’t that Serendipitous?”, the crowd went wild, and his encore performance was widely reported the next day.

It's complicated and complex, and the fact that it is impossibly so makes it more interesting. This is where I'm planting my flag, but the idea of gender diversity and name elasticity is baseline for the United Federation of Planets.
