Here's some cursed knowledge:
In the mv, there's a JamieP styled Pearto, so it's JamieP's face on a pear. The artist who drew it didn't fully understand JamieP's character design, and those things in her hair were misinterpreted as ears. The result: the Jamie Pear has long elf-like ears. Horrifying.

i-win basically made the "base" of the mv, like the camera movement and scene transitions, and the chopping/syncing of the gameplay footage. (Though I manually reconstructed the timing of the chops themselves, they turned that into the actual visuals)
I did all the lyric placement and movement!

It was actually wild not being able to talk about this for the LONGEST time, just waiting

Eventually, the song was done and it was time to work on the mv. An artist that I've known for a long time did the main art, and I got a lot of help on the actual mv from @i-win.bsky.social, shoutouts to them!

And she agreed to make a song! We worked out the terms of the commission, and the random crazy daydream of a smots gaming vsynth song went from being just a thought to suddenly very real and Coming Soon.

It was midnight when i sent the email, so it was technically the 7th of April at the time. Anyway, I certainly wasn't expecting to ever get a response.

But then, for some reason, I had the urge to check my email a few hours later... And she had responded to my email 40 minutes after I had sent it

I sent a lengthy email describing what smots gaming was and what a song on it could look like. I described some themes about repetition and the feeling of something that started off as a joke becoming adored by many, and the stress of trying to continue to outdo yourself all the time

I thought, well, there's certainly no harm in reaching out to an artist and asking if they'd like to make something! I briefly mentioned it to a couple of the other people behind the channel and then set to work emailing Jamie Paige and explaining the insane context behind my request

I thought of the idea for a Vocaloid song on smots gaming back on the evening of April 6th, this year. I had just recently gotten into vsynth music and was listening to a lot of JamieP and FLAVOR FOLEY songs. I randomly got the insane idea... "What if: smots gaming vsynth song??"
