Also like Dune, although sometimes stories lose me when they lean fantasy/spiritual. One sci fi book I love with an arguably unreliable narrator is Annihilation by Vandermeer. Also recently enjoyed Dragon's Egg by Forward, not about dragons but a civilization evolving on a neutron star.

Yay! The second book is my favorite!
It keeps surprising me with new mysteries and reveals, while staying consistent in terms of world building. I also enjoy the themes of perspective taking and game theory, trying to win by understanding the enemy better than they understand you. What's your fav sci fi book?
