Reach out to Dr. Anne Marie Morse (DAMMgoodsleep).
She is at the top of the field and she is genuine, caring while very knowledge-able.

My life was dramatically altered at the age of 20 from severe complete Cataplexy on a regular frequent basis, I'll never be able to live how I could before. I'm 45 now and still impacted by those effects.

So many trade-offs in this life, things most can't fathom not being part of their normal...

Which makes it extremely hard for people to not just get off them, but be able to return to their baseline in any reasonable amount of time, if at all.

Most diseases have a drug or two that work, with N there is a commonality that it takes different combinations over time, changing regularly too.

There are people like myself, who have never tolerated nor benefited from any of the stims, antidepressants, or any of it. Hoping the Orexin Agonists will be tolerable and beneficial but time will tell.

As for the older stimulants, they have an EDS compounding effect when withdrawing from them.

As for the schizophrenia, I heard Dr. Ortiz say that around or less than 1% of PWN have or receive a dx of such. But the misdiagnosis is not uncommon - because of how misunderstood, little is understood, by the common doctors out there, when it comes to N.

Narcolepsy is brutal, and so barely begun to be understood, far less recognized, comprehended and furthest of all acknowledged for what it is and can be -> neurologic system dysfunction + many comorbidities, sensitivities, etc.

The meds can work for some, not all, and most have to juggle over time.

Cataplexy is a brutal symptom/condition that is part of having Type 1 Narcolepsy; few people understand or can begin to fathom it, for what it is to live with.

The claim is completely respectable.
