Right?? It forever weirds me out that depicting the fictional murder of one is so taboo, but the other is okay? Both are distressing, but it’s fiction so why make a distinction between the two as if only one is sacred?

I mean… there is death and torment involved too, but.

I still prefer subs for the most part but for my favourite anime I will venture into listening to the dub on rewatch and have found appreciation for those, too! They’re both valid!

Anyway, dub voice acting quality has really markedly improved over the last ten years since anime is now mainstream media. Back when it was a niche interest, there wasn’t much thought that went into casting suitable English actors, but it’s so different now!

Same vibe as metalheads who turn their nose up at popular genres and think they’re funny for calling it cRap music
