🌚9/10 molemen mudlarkers🌚
Smashed through this in an evening - the world building of book two really allowed the world to expand in book three. Brutal, brutal stakes. Gripped from start to finish.

💀8/10 Penny Dreadfuls🖋️
2nd in a series, and revised, so it makes the most of its 535 pages. There is a LOT in this one. I like the underworld and the MC - yet again the world building sings, but it was just...so massive to lug about. Desperate to finish the rest!

🎁9/10 brownies that kill you🎁
A lovely little mystery, but much more importantly a lovely little exploration of beautiful friends and the people that love them 🩷 Cried like four times 🩷 I miss Stephen and I also think Elizabeth is unkillable except by God 🫡

🛎️10/10 Bellhops🛎️
I'm not sure if I want to eat this book page by page or crawl inside it. Every character absolutely sings (and dances, and threatens violence)! A lovely gorgeous book with oodles of heart. I cried almost the entire second half. 🩷

🌊🏘️8/10 Wet Architects🏘️🌊
I've been thinking about the setting for days. Endless water, dark memories and the slow crumbling of everything and everyone. More rain = more vibes. Beautiful writing but two of the sisters were hard to tell apart and it ended just okay.

✋6/10 left hands🏠
So. Great idea for a mystery, floor plans and weirdness! But boy it could have used a longer novel. The leaps in story and plot make it feel a little under developed - rather than organic. It feels like a conspiracy theory, rather than a murder mystery 🤷

🏵️9/10 new vocabulary 🥣
This book was like someone grabbing your hand and sprinting away. There's a lot in here: æther, reph, and lots of -mancy's. But, the characters and setting were strong and interesting and complex. Will be thinking about it for a while.

Which were also good, but not as good as medieval peasants

It's exactly the same but you pretend you're medieval peasants the whole time

🖋️7/10 romantic couplets📜
-1pt for cutting the ending a chapter too short. Beautifully written, but 90% of problems could be solved with 1 polyamory. Everyone almost declares their gay feelings, so it just feels like a lot of the book goes unsaid. I did cry twice

👑5/10 secret twins👑
The second book was low key a slog, the romance was bleh and pretty much every single guy suuuucks. Galahad tho? Secret girl apparently, unfortunately it doesn't matter. This book wanted to point at Arthurian legend and wink at me 😒
