🏳️‍🌈 Levels of domestic abuse in the LGBTQIA+ community are shocking and too often go unreported.

Grateful to launch vital research from @HereNI, funded by my Department, exposing this reality.

I want to ensure we recognise all victims and tailor support to meet their needs.

The scale of suffering and bloodshed in Gaza is intolerable.

Alongside party leaders from across the UK, I have written to the Prime Minister demanding immediate action.

Parliament must be recalled to end arms sales, introduce sanctions and uphold international law.

Advances in technology & AI have led to a massive increase in image-based sexual abuse and the impact on victims is devastating.

That's why I'm taking steps to criminalise sexually explicit deepfakes.

Last Friday I had the pleasure of visiting @GreenwoodHouse, meeting some of their amazing staff and pupils and seeing what a fantastic school community they have created, despite resourcing issues making their job considerably more difficult. Thank you for having me!😊

Had a great time with @connieegan yesterday visiting Bangor Academy’s Law and Politics Society. It’s always a pleasure to get to sit down with pupils to discuss politics, justice or Alliance, especially when they have as interesting questions as this group!

Over 5,300 people in Northern Ireland live with MS, but the symptoms are different for everyone and are often invisible. Having #MSConversations isn’t always easy but they are important and opening up can be empowering.

Lovely to host @ggulster to launch the @girlguidinguk Girls Attitude Survey. Some really challenging statistics about online harm, safety, sexism and well-being, with super input from the girls themselves.

Over 200 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year in Northern Ireland and yet ovarian cancer continues to be overlooked. That’s why this #OvarianCancerAwarenessMonth I’m joining @TargetOvarian to help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms.

Screening can be a powerful tool to help beat cancer. Northern Ireland’s bowel, cervical and breast cancer screening programmes are there to spot possible signs of cancer before they’re noticeable.

Despite the progress we've made, the institutions are as stable today as they were the day before the last collapse.

The need for institutional reform remains a priority, with each collapse causing immeasurable damage.

Not sure how this tallies with Lee's initial assessment welcoming the conversation.

I was entirely genuine, and while I never expected we'd agree, I respected his views and was keen to engage.

Genuinely distressed that caused such hurt. It was never my intention. @hleehurley.substack.com

#MichaelLongley was not just a literary genius, but one of the warmest, most engaging people I have had the pleasure to know.

His sensitivity and insight were rivaled only by his humility and ability to communicate hope in his work.

Truly sad that he is no longer with us.

Softer Brexit alternatives were dismissed by those now opposing the Windsor Framework.

Ironically, the DUP called it a success earlier this year.

Alliance backs the Framework, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s the best choice for stability over chaos.
