The spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority Security Forces, Anwar Rajab: Hamas is now laying the groundwork for a civil war in Gaza…. As Hamas continues carrying out executions in Gaza and the leaders of Gaza’s clans issue a joint statement condemning Hamas

Today Trump soft launched the American military takeover of the U.S. capitol. Does U.S. democracy hinge on what Fox says (ie what half the nation hears) and what Republican lawmakers do next ? Tune in to find o—. (I mean… at least there’s the small red link at the bottom ?)

These kinds of comments from ppl in Myanmar’s democratic resistance have been commonplace for a while, just not publicly. For Tayzar San, a doctor turned leader in PDF to publicly say NUG needs to be reformed/isn’t helping is huge. (Picts of 1st part of translation) www.facebook.com/share/p/14Eq...

Trump administration sent propaganda email -from- the Social Security Admin., praising the passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill, falsely claiming that “90% of SS beneficiaries” will no longer pay taxes on benefits and calling it a “historic step forward for America’s seniors.”

#Iran, some perspectives. Posted largely bc… I’m annoyed at the intense takes by people ( media incl.) who don’t seem know much about the region/view this as a thing in isolation. (Posters are: Lebanese journalist, Gazan ME analyst, Middle Eastern Israeli analyst)

And @npr.org 2-way this morning #Gaza left it completely unfactchecked when the local said there’s no more Hamas (or didn’t point out: hey out of fear, ppl don’t say the truth). Also, the protests are amazing (on both sides of the border). Media obfuscation = not helping. @jimbohider.bsky.social

Myanmar junta already breaks ceasefire it agreed to … yesterday? In the wake of the deadly earthquake and resistance groups saying they would cease all but defensive actions. This is a statement that should surprise no one
April 3, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Considering how the Myanmar military has treated civil disobedience doctors (nearly all of them are) and civil servants,—- arrested, tortured, and killed them, this is an astounding offer for them to make, esp since the military is still bombing areas hit by the earthquake

The protests in Gaza right now against Hamas are truly incredible. And they’ve gotten little to coverage
March 29, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Meanwhile, the Myanmar military continues to bomb the area of the country that was hardest hit by the earthquake. Because that’s also a resistance stronghold. It’s also why people there have no internet. Not because the earthquake knocked it out. Because the junta demanded it

#Yangon, #Myanmar returns to 4 hours only of electricity a day. Down from 8. Min Aung Hlaing, yet again, making a great case in the city where true power in the country lies, for his continued barbaric dictatorship.

This week in how to destroy the world’s standard bearer for democracy. Dismantling VOA etc is such a gift to dictators everywhere. And Even if, in four years, eg, the Wilson Center or VOA can rehire 1/2 of the staff it has… the damage is irreparable. #ThanksChuckShumer
