I swear I didn’t intentionally colour co-ordinate my current reads. On a side note, I have torn through Bat Eater. A perfect storm of anti-Chinese racism, Hungry Ghosts and anger. Read it!

📚Model Home by Rivers Solomon: horror that revolves around trauma, identity, racism, family. Had to sit for a while and have a big think once I’d finished it. The way it’s written is a good rep of how memory is warped by trauma, how we attack ourselves when we’ve swallowed a story that isn’t our own

Welp, it finally happened. I reached the gen where I went…‘that’s not Pokémon, they’re just generic, charmless anime monsters and memes.’ I can’t explain it, but these guys just look like roided up fighters from something called ‘Monster Clasherz X.’ Feel like the style guide is gone.

I also just finished I Have Some Questions For You. Immaculate character writing. Complicated people being complicated. The author really brought the school’s ecosystem to life. I love how sad this entire book made me regarding injustice to women. Nailed true crime podcasters/YTers too.

- Highly recommend The Eyes Are the Best Part; the exploration of racism is more gruesome than the eye stuff.
- Tingle’s horror never misses. Campy and smart.
-Dial A for Aunties is trashy, but great fun and has beautiful insights on ESEA family dynamics that were spot on.

However, if there is one thing I'm thankful to Section 31 for, it's for this this godly image of Michelle Yeoh. Yup. Mmmhmm. Yes ma'am. She's an absolute campy joy in this movie, and honestly the only reason I watched it. And it's always good to see her showing off her martial arts prowess.
