Thanks for writing for us, a great post!
I've written a short piece on international law, fetishism, and ideology - now out on Legal Form. I suggest that international law is an ideological fetishism of international relations.
In our latest post @mariethogersen.bsky.social meticulously unpacks what *exactly* is ideological about international law. Against those who locate this merely in international law's content, she directs us to international law's fetishistic character.

It's 100 pages and around 60,000 words of Marxist analysis of the EU. We hope that it signals a break from the past, by introducing ideas and authors that offer a challenge to the very precepts of EU law.

Our introduction reflects on why Marxism has largely been absent from EU law:

🔹 EU law is often framed as technocratic & consensual, not as a site of class struggle
🔹 The field is unusually supportive of the European project, with limited critical approaches

This was a great chat I think. Alex on his usual excellent form and @rafeefz.bsky.social and Adam both brilliant as ever.

This is our first pod about the @versobooks.bsky.social pamphlet and it's good to start out with some of the best.

Chunky but hopefully helpful, Marxism has been noticeably absent from analyses of EU law.

; big respect to this kid being interviewed live about his A-level results who takes the opportunity to say "free Palestine!" and highlight that the BBC is complicit in genocide, while the journalist stumbles awkwardly to respond. 👏🏻🇵🇸

Absolutely fucking brilliant: students use AI to write their assignments, and then teachers use AI to grade them.

David Graeber wrote an entire book on "bullshit jobs," but I don't think even he could foresee how rapidly we would all run off this cliff together.
