Hello everyone,

My CFS means I can't really work, but over the last 8 months I've been slowly designing a Lego model of my house. I realized I can generate a little income with this. If you want me to model your house in Lego, I will send you the bricks you need and […]

Well I just learned American cheetahs were a thing until humans showed up. 😠 Yet another species we need to restore to its rightful place.

Watership Down by Richard Adams

I finished a week or so ago and just can't get around to a proper review. It's real good. It's a classic for a reason. Total sausage fest, but it's an older book and it's explained as rabbit culture anyhow. Read it!

Only thing that disappointed me is [SPOILERS […]

I made a terrible mistake and now this dog thinks I can get up and play. I am so sorry Mr. Dog, I simply can't. I do apologize for playing with you yesterday, did you not notice how I fell asleep after for the entire afternoon?

Gave my dog back into foster care after two and a half years with him. He improved immensely while he was with us, but ultimately we weren't able to prove the environment and handling for him that would keep him safe. I'm gonna miss you Victor Frankenstein.

Wisdom is found on the desolate hillside where none comes to feed, and the stony bank where the rabbit scratches a hole in vain.

I have learned that, with creatures one loves, suffering is not the only thing for which one may pity them. A rabbit who does not know when a gift has made him safe is poorer than a slug, even though he may think otherwise himself.

"Would you like to save your credit card for easier checkout next time?"

No. No I would not. You probably store it as a plain text file in a public-facing folder labeled "CREDIT CARD INFO FIX STORAGE LATER"

My wife and I finally got our flu and COVID shots. Of course this being ‘Berta, we have to pay unless we have an underlying health condition. My wife actually has an issue that qualifies her for a free vaccine. The nurse turned to me and said there are many common conditions that qualify for a […]

Nowadays, among fields and woods, the noise level by day is high–too high for some kinds of animal to tolerate. […] Cars, buses, motorcycles, tractors, lories–the sound of a housing estate in the morning is audible a long way off. People who record birdsong generally do it very early, before six […]

Woke up this morning to discover the my five hour copy-paste file transfer was actually a five hour cut-paste transfer and now I have the pleasure of doing it all again in reverse.

I just finished reading the book “How to Change a Memory” by neuroscientist Steve Ramirez. It’s one of the most unique pop-science books I’ve ever read, because this book about memory is also (fittingly) a memoire. Ramirez tells the story of his thesis work on the neural basis of memory (using […]

I upgraded the graphics card in my laptop and it was so worth it. The previous card was good, this one is stellar. If you have a Framework 16 and want a graphics card, I've listed my AMD Radeon RX 7700S on eBay for $350. It can run most of the demanding games at the higher visual settings and […]
