Here to share my passions of travel, volunteer camp hosting, and probably hockey.
Your campground host dones not ask for a lot. But please don't climb random cliffs and start fires when I'm trying to go to bed. It's not cool, really.

Back on the road after a long Thanksgiving break and visits to family. I meant to take more photos but...

Some of the best wine I've had at a Harvest Host. But if you plan on staying there follow the arrival directions.

2.5 more weeks as a host. This week is one of the more difficult weeks I've had as a host. I'm glad folks of Texas are enjoying their spring break, but this little parks infrastructure struggles under your burden.

Why do I have to drive on the roads? Why can't I park in the grass?

Things in the desert don't grow back fast or even normal, and they take a very long time to heal. Please tire tracks were made in late May of this year. Things are just barely starting to grow in them to cover them up hopefully.

My current camphost volunteer opportunity is partial hookups.
What does this mean?
Let's define full hookups first, water from a spigot, electric from an outlet, and a dump spot.

Partial hookups means you have 1 or 2 of the 3.

I have one, sewer.

Let's cover how I get the other two!

Best site in the campground tonight is facing the clouds away from the sunset.

Walking the campground when it's very quiet and trying to listen to the hockey game. The walsh always cut the signal.

Probably the best site in the whole campground right now. For the view and the angle of the hill blocking some of the wind. Another amazing sunset in the desert.

Camping Pro Tip: The following things do not burn when you put them in your fire pit and get cleaned up by campground staff:
Glass
Bottle Caps
Cans
Can Kids

These things can be recycled, consider that instead please 🥺
