Don't forget the joy and beauty to be found in this world. It is a reminder of what we are fighting to protect. Here in Florida, on this frightfully cold morning of 32 degrees, the sunrise comes again. Days will come and go and I'll remain in Florida holding space for the return of democracy.

The very first presidential candidate I voted for in 1980. He lost, many of my candidates have lost over the last 40 years. He was a good man, better than most politicians, and our country probably didn't deserve him. Wake up America. Let's do better, let's learn from peanut farmer Jimmy Carter.

Resistance and opposition are not the same. An important aspect of resistance is to continue to live our lives with joy. My 18 year old feral cat who never let me pet her has finally decided she loves to be held and snuggled. Never give up your right to pursue happiness.

This is my middle finger healing after two weeks when I sliced a little bit off chopping ginger for a curry dish I was making. If instead of a chefs knife my finger was grazed by a bullet from an "AR style rifle" I guess it would be completely healed by now.

I'm definitely concerned.
