Farewell & thanks for everything Captain James Lovell. Apollo 8 Command Module Pilot - arguably NASA’s boldest mission - Commander & survivor of the ill fated Apollo 13. I’ve met few people more inspiring or more generous with their legacy. God Speed, safe flight. #AdAstra #NASA

@talkaranrhiod.com sounds like Kate Fleetwood has carved out another strong Ibsen woman in London’s The Master Builder, alongside Ewan MacGreggor. I’m in London in a month, might be worth a look!

With the way Trump pulls out, moments after trying to show force, you wonder how he ever became a father?

He can’t have Greenland.
He can’t have the Canal.
He can’t have Gaza.
He can’t give away Ukraine.
Canada will never agree to Anschluss.

If Google can do it, so can I.

Please recognize Elon Musk as the President of Lower Canada.

I just got it.
Donald J Trump, Genius (tm) thinks we get eggs from Polar Bears.

See, they’re white.
Chickens are white.
So polar bears give eggs.

Polar bears are bigger than chickens.
Polar Bear eggs will be bigger than chicken eggs.

Now I understand.

Until today, I have been raving against the insanity of a Trump administration. Since 2017, when I posted Elmer Fudd with a MAGA hat on Facebook, I have watched with amazement, incredulity, fear, and loathing. It’s about to happen again.
Until today, I wanted Trump to shut up and go away.

@elizabethemay.bsky.social thank you for standing up for our country. I only wish you saw why Donald Trump invokes Wayne Gretzky. You see, Wayne was the one thing that Donnie wants, but will never be: A successful King.

So BC have sent our helicopters to LA to assist in the fires. We have recent experience in interface fires.

Carey Elwes, Billy Crystal. These fires are taking the homes of our Princess Bride cast. In unrelated news, Andre the Giant is dead.

My CFL team celebrated a former championship team. There was one important update.

So honoured today to have a shout out from #drkevinfong on his remarkable #16Sunsets podcast. If you are a podcast fan, a history nut or a science geek, you need to listen to this show. It’s reminded me of a time when the sky was literally not the limit.

Trump wants Canada to be the 51st state? 10 provinces and 3 territories? That’s 12 states that vote Democrat, and will make Obama care look like a high school bio class. FYI, the one province that is (still) offered statehood from the Founders, would make every cereal box tri-lingual. Le coco puffs.

For the few that follow me, once we have Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime Season 3 announcement, I’ll throw in a rewatch thread for the first 2 seasons. You’ll want to be up to date with the most exciting fantasy drama of 2025.

West Wing 25 yr rewatch. S1E3. Best moment: Charlie cutting through the chaos to solve the glasses mystery.
Learning moment: Joint chiefs in the Sit Room talk Jed off the cliff and get him to pilot down the spear. I have no confidence that anyone in 47 cabinet have the ability to do the same.

West Wing rewatch, 25 years later: S1 E2.
In Josh’s words, Before Hoc, therefore something Hoc.
Best moment, Josh’s victory gloat.
Applicable to today: Leo, can’t fire the VP. Hence Mike Pence was able to follow moral conscience, and now beget the sycophants of Project 2025, ergo Loyalty>skill.

I’ve always been a West Wing fan, and listened to The West Wing Weekly podcast -over 150 episodes -at least twice. It’s the 25th anniversary of the show , and I’d like to share my rewatch with you.

Today, S1 E1: Pilot
