Gonna mess with the fan curve and think about swapping in a Noctua fan instead. Another $25 in to this I guess!

Got everything set up, currently waiting out parity sync before going much further.

New problem: The innermost drives are running a little hotter than I'd like to see. The CPU package is also kinda warm too...but that could be related to the sync.

Actually...setting up NUT on a RPi I have kicking around might not be a bad idea.

Last of what I need will be here Wednesday. I just hope this UPS I bought will work with it correctly or I'm gonna have to figure out how NUT works...

Comes down to if I want a turnkey system or to build something out that would be easier to fix if something failed.

To its credit, my Syno has had zero problems in the 7 years I've had it (minus SMART errors on one HDD), but the specs are anemic for what I wanna start doing with it.
