the violence that has historically been used to enforce eugenic ideals are the natural end point of that root idea. It will always end with the devaluation of human lives and be used to justify violence against those that are deemed to be lesser. that is the only place the ideology can go.

just because its not taking the form of arranged marriages or forced sterilizations (right now at least) doesn't mean that the idea has any merits worth considering. at the end of the day every eugenics project is still rooted in the idea that people some are measurably better or worse from birth.

At its core, the idea of trying to breed humans to exhibit specific traits at its core relies on the idea that specific traits (and thus the people with those traits) are better than others (and the people without them). Even more importantly is the idea those traits are genetic and immutable.
