Ghost of Yotei did a good job with this. Climbable ledges are covered in white bird poop lol. Little birds even fly away when you start climbing sometimes. Grapplable trees etc have red and white shimenawa ropes tied to them, left behind by previous rock climbers or monks. Subtle and not distracting
