There are a lot of parallels across European festivals related to the agricultural year. In my own homeland of Galicia, in NW Spain, you get the Baroque-aesthetic Peliqueiros whose masks have animal pictures on the headpiece, and who wear large cowbells across the back of their belts.

O problema en Galiza é que dis "Canto é iso en ferrados?" E como non engadas ferrados de que Concello (ou mesmo de que parroquia) é imposible responder. XD
