I suspect someone was explaining basic economics to trump - that a trade deficit *must* balance with investment or borrowing (typically treasury purchases). Someone likely said "and the U.S. gets most of the benefit of that foreign investment," and he interprets it however he wants.

"The half way half gallon," they were closed when I hiked past. I ate so much food while hiking though.

It's even lower if you think of it in terms of assets managed. For 2022, looks like that works out to 0.24% of assets.

Do members of Congress actually accurately report cryptocurrency holdings? I wouldn't expect to know how much gold a member of Congress held. Bitcoin is more like a commodity than a security, unless held through ETFs.

Would it have been appropriate if he had fired the client more quietly? I feel like it would be hard to do in this case without saying anything. What's the right way to handle the situation?

Shouldn't we expect that fewer accidental ignitions would usually lead to larger wildfires?

Part of forest management is controlled burns, but frequent uncontrolled wildfires also reduce the expected impact of future uncontrolled wildfires.

I dont want to spend my online time defending common sense to raving lunatics I don't even know, and who may be bots, or who may be the modern "shock jocks" farming for engagement.

I have plenty of conservative friends irl - people who I at least know are actual people expressing sincere views

I think there's a limit to how much one can invest in engaging with extreme political nonsense. I want to follow authors of books I've read, the news, artists, investment and technology related content, etc.

Life isn't just about politics, and a lot of us need a break. No one's obligated to engage with the "debate me!" content and 99% of it is unhelpful.

The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over.
Then shits all over the board.
Then struts around like it won.”

Sometimes I follow bad people just because their tweets are market-moving. I like to monitor the stock market.

What news outlet would you subscribe to instead? Is there anything better?

Your map is labeled "rate" but does not actually show a rate. It shows raw counts of crimes. Obviously places with no people have no crimes.
