Gerrymandering is no longer possible with an adequately proportional voting system. Single seat disticts and a winner-take-all voting system effectively disenfrachise many/most voters. If independent redistricting worked, Canadians wud have much more representative and accountable govt.

How do you make them accountable for their actions? They'll view it like winning a lottery and use it to feather their own nests. Government is also complex. We need not only accountability but also some continuity whereby knowledge is passed from one govt to the next.
