You still don't get algorithms optimized for consumption, and thus leading to increasingly biased opinions. Instead, you can easily look for the same topics across news sites for a more thorough overview.

You just argued against yourself, saying that famines are the state of nature (as they are possible today as well, for example if fertilizers are not allowed).

Famine was part of human history until very recently. ourworldindata.org/famines A few big discoveries, like the fertiliser in agriculture increased yields to unprecedented levels, and resulted in a massive decrease in famine.

Famine is the state of nature for homo sapiens, not poverty. There is more and more evidence that this made us greedy. Poverty is a cultural phenomenon as shown by Sweden's XXth century. They moved from being one of the least egalitarian state to one of the most egalitarian. Culture can be changed.
