Dad, writer, gamer. Sure I'm losing my mind, but I'm willing to lend an ear.
Get out and vote, but do it in a way that would make Russians or North Koreans citizens jealous.

Just watched Weapons. Wow, the film is such a ride! Quite terrifying, also funny, with some excellently employed misdirection. Lots of nuance in the theming. Pacing falls off a bit in the final act, but makes up for it with a spectacular finale. Continue to expect big things from Cregger.

Nothing worse than losing your ring in the house for a while. Nothing happier than your wife finding it for you. :-)

Doom Dark Ages was kinda out of all over the place. The mechanical design was superb! The game design was Ubisoft leftovers. The style and music mostly felt off. But the narrative took a major left turn that I loved. More of that kinda shit please. Also those last boss fights are brutal!

Party of mostly new players feeling pressured as a fight winds down: we need to get out of here. A sound decision.

They proceed to go deeper into the dungeon. Me literally biting my tongue.

Ope, that's a flameskull. Have a fireball!

I love to root for the party, but they can make it so hard.

End of the first arc for this DND campaign. Running a big ole dungeon with lots of carefully planned encounters and set pieces. I have total confidence the party will catch me off guard, with something totally brilliant or idiotic within the first 20mins.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social CONGRATULATIONS ZOHRAN! The work is just begining, but we know you can do it! You, your campaign, and your fair city will set an example to the nation!

@bradlander.bsky.social Congrats on a race well run! Further proof STL raises good folks, and exports its best.

28 Years Later is subversion of expectations done right! Classic zombie horror, sure, but a phenomenal coming of age hero's journey. A strong start to what is sure to be a classic trilogy. Boyle is onto something, and makes for very earnest film making.

When you create a side character for the campaign only to realize you actually want to play them.

Finally DMed for the first time in a decade, and my first time for new players. Love all the modern tools! we're a long ways away from printed maps and scrap tokens next to a party of cheap figures. Things went well. One of my players committed a hit and run with a wagon. Excited for next session

Had a dream where a besieged leader made a grand speech. Inspiring unify the down trodden type stuff. Then someone shouted "Yeah we're tired of being ignored!" Everyone roared in support, then began fighting each other and sacking the city themselves. I started laughing so hard I woke up.

I feel like a sticking point in any world building with a great evil force is what that force would plan to do after it succeeds. It basically leaves you with two options the evil eventually destroys itself, or eventually reforms in some regard. Horror is probably the best way to reconcile this.

Generally a good idea to stay away from plants in DnD

Do we merely "make" toast because the act itself is below that of cooking?

Things that a broken certainly aren't useless, but it is absolutely worth remembering that they can be dangerous in unexpected ways. This too can also be useful.
