Glad that Air Canada flight attendants will no longer have to work for free. Disgusting that the airline (and so many other workplaces) think this is acceptable to ask of their staff.

Also disgusting that I had to travel via Newark Airport to get to my destination 😑

Check out the latest issue of @anti-misogyny.bsky.social which features a number of excellent feminist poems, stories, essays, and artwork. Honoured to be included amongst them with my essay on how much I love #Madonna and how she introduced me to feminism in the 2000s!

It’s weird to live in a time when basic principles like cruelty is wrong, cheating is empty & the idea that curiosity, generosity, originality, the satisfaction of earned accomplishments & loving intimacy are the center of a good life feel like countercultural concepts

Has anyone *really* been sitting around desperate for a film about Gollum? Young Aragorn would be far more believable to me.

The proposed film tariffs are entirely idiotic. But they do create the perfect opportunity for Canada and the UK to team up and make their own bad holiday movies about opposites attracting and falling in love at Christmas (but why weren’t we doing that already?) #Commonwealth

Saw Sinners and finished reading Lullaby by Leila Slimani yesterday in the same day. Completely recommend both, two very different stories but they’re brilliant.

…And then proceeded to have a nightmare about a vampiric nanny last night. Next story idea? #MixedMedia

'I thought John Travolta was in this!'
Apparently jet lag makes my father confuse reality TV show The Circle with the cinematic masterpiece that is Face/Off.
...it took him 15 minutes to realise they are not the same thing.

I’ve become an adult who knows how to cook because friends insist on giving me mixes that require an overabundance of ingredients. I feel bad about throwing any excesses away, so I buy more ingredients for new recipes to avoid waste, and so the cycle continues. Their audacity knows no bounds.

‘Express Yourself’ by Madonna was relevant to me as a teenager, and continues to persist into my 30s. Will always be one of my all-time favourite songs!

Working on an epistolary novel, so am trying a new technique where I write it by hand. Interestingly enough, am finding it easier to write this form of story in this manner rather than on my computer. Just neat to consider when I think about my creative processes.

First book I've finished reading this year—Reservoir Bitches by Dahlia de la Cerda. Loved it! A short story collection about different women in Mexico, some of whom are linked together. Darkly funny in places with pointed social commentary, and a fast read. Definitely will read more by the writer!
